Adult Level 1: Beginner
In this class you will learn the basics of tennis, and begin to rally and play in the first class.
We will start with Red Ball / Red Court
Since 85% of people that try tennis for the first time, quit. So our goal is to prevent this from happening. The goal will be to just introduce all the basic shots in tennis and go through them quickly. We will use the Red-Orange system of court and ball progressions.
Lesson Plan:
Instant Tennis: a progression that helps players to rally immediately
Rally Builders: help players to get the ball going back and forth sooner ~ drills to teach players where the proper point of contact should be.
Introduce the volley.
Introduce the overhead.
Introduce a simple serve.
Introduce scoring and tie-breakers.
