5:1 Students to Coach

Groups separated by age/skill level

Level 1: Red Ball


Objectives:

  1. Learn proper fundamental techniques for all strokes, including serves and volleys, through Progression System. 
  2. Start groundstrokes with drop and hit; then progress to feeding with basic, proper footwork movement in all directions with proper recovery. 
  3. Introduce lob and touch shots. Dink-ums is a great drop shot game for touch shots.
  4. Introduce the serve.
  5. Once the student can rally reasonably well play mini-tennis match-play.
Heavily focused on hand eye coordination, balance, footwork, ready position, holding racket correctly and beginning to master proper stroke production.  Introduction to serve.
Work to help players get ready for match play by reinforcing proper stroke production, footwork and basic strategy concepts.


Help players to be able to hit full spectrum of tennis shots with solid technique, greatly improved footwork and recovery needed to cover the bigger court size.


LEARN and have FUN in this all-year round introductory course for players ages 8 and under. 
Utilizing modified courts and equipment tailored to a child's size, this program gives young players the skills that will equip them for a sport that can be played and enjoyed for a lifetime!

If it is raining in the general vicinity of the tennis courts, or within the hour before the scheduled lesson, it is most likely that the lesson will be cancelled. However, if it is not raining, or if rain has ceased within 1-2 hours or more of the scheduled lesson, there is a good chance that the lesson will be held.
